Mi’quel Bowles was sentenced Friday to three years in prison, with a 257-day time served credit. He will also be subject to up to two years of probation when he finishes his prison sentence.
Stewart was reported missing on Sept. 20, last being seen in the North Liden section of the city. His body was found in a field on Oct. 3.
Court records state that Stewart tried to buy a gun from Michael Bowles, Mi’quel’s brother, while inside a car. Michael Bowles then allegedly shot Stewart when a 16-year-old boy in the car tried to steal the gun from Stewart.
