BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Police Department was called to a Sunday afternoon shooting that left a man hurt.

Police officers responded around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15 in the 5000 block of Highland Road. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man who had been shot one time. The person who was shot is expected to survive, BRPD said.

Police said he passed that vehicle and then both vehicles came to a stop at a red light. An argument reportedly took place and the other driver partially blocked the shooting victim’s vehicle. Investigators said the other driver threw a soda can at the windshield.

The victim was reportedly shot while getting out of his vehicle.
