Man wanted for double homicide in Southeast Shelby County

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A “be on the lookout” has been issued for a man wanted for a double homicide that happened Monday morning in Southeast Shelby County.

ORIGINAL STORY: 2 dead following shooting in Southeast Shelby County

Jaylan McCollins, 28, is considered to be armed and dangerous, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. He is described as a 5’9, 175-pound man.

This comes after two people were shot to death on July 1 in the 7600 block of Newfound Gap Road near East Shelby Drive in the Pinnacle Point neighborhood.

SCSO deputies say they responded to the scene around 5:15 a.m. where a woman was pronounced dead, and a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound.

Man shot dead at Love’s gas station on Lamar Avenue

The man was taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition where he later died.
