Mandatory evacuation ordered for Grand Isle and Laffite
JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A mandatory evacuation has been issued for residents in Laffite and Grand Isle in anticipation of Tropical Storm Francine making landfall.
During a press conference on Monday, Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng ordered a mandatory evacuation for those outside of the levee protection system due to the risk of a “potentially life-threatening” storm surge.
