Manitowoc man arrested for alleged stabbing on July 4 in Two Rivers

TWO RIVERS, Wis. (WFRV) – A 62-year-old man was arrested in Manitowoc County on July 4 after allegedly stabbing a 51-year-old woman multiple times.

According to a release, deputies with the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office and officers with the Two Rivers Police Department were sent to an address in the township of Two Rivers for a report of a woman who was stabbed.

Upon arrival, authorities found two individuals on the property with apparent stab wounds. A 51-year-old woman was located in the backyard with multiple stab wounds and other injuries, while a 62-year-old man, later identified as Calvin C. Eis, was located inside the house with a stab wound to his abdomen, which was determined to be self-inflicted.

Eis was arrested and transported to the Manitowoc County Jail and is being held on charges of Attempted homicide, aggravated battery, strangulation/suffocation, and possession of narcotics.

On Monday, July 8, Eis attended his bail hearing where bail was set at $500,000, according to the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office. Additionally, authorities say that this was an isolated incident and that the community was in no danger.
