One in 10 congressional Democrats putting pressure on Biden to step down
More than one in 10 congressional Democrats have publicly urged President Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 election following CNN's debate debacle against Republican nominee Donald Trump that raised questions about Biden's ability to win or to carry out his duties for another four years.
Pass the Torch, a group that wants Biden to step down, has launched a TV ad to air in Washington and Rehoboth, Delaware, where Biden often vacations, and features Democratic voters from Pennsylvania urging Biden to "pass the torch."
The Democratic incumbent has repeatedly insisted he will stay in the race, and in an interview on MSNBC on Friday morning, Biden campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon said the president is “absolutely” still running for the White House.
