Marc Anthony Endorses Kamala Harris: “This Election Goes Way Beyond Political Parties”
Marc Anthony is throwing his support behind Kamala Harris in this year’s presidential election.
In an ad titled “Recuerdo,” the singer-songwriter noted that some people may have forgotten what things were like in the United States for Latin people during Donald Trump’s first term, but he hasn’t.

“I remember what he did and said about Puerto Rico, about our people,” Anthony continued in the spot. “I remember after Hurricane Maria devastated our island, Trump blocked billions in relief while thousands died. I remember when our families lacked clean water and electricity, Trump threw paper towels and called Puerto Rico ‘dirty and poor.'”
The artist stated that he was not surprised at the time when Trump did all those things because he recalled how the former president kicked off his campaign by calling Latin people “criminals” and “rapists.”
“He told us what he’ll do. He’ll separate children from their families, and threaten to use the Army to do it,” Anthony continued. “This election goes way beyond political parties. Let’s remember what the United States represents and stands for: UNITED, regardless of where we’re from. I am Marc Anthony and I remember. That’s why I support Kamala Harris for President.”
The ad is part of the Harris campaign’s investment in TV and digital reservations until Election Day on Nov. 5. It will air nationally on Telemundo and WAPA America TV during Sunday’s 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards and in Pennsylvania on Telemundo and Univision. It aims to target events and programs with high viewership, like popular telenevolas and a variety of other shows.
Anthony’s endorsement of Harris follows several other celebrities sharing their support for the vice president, including Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, George Clooney, Jamie Lee Curtis, Megan Thee Stallion, Charli XCX and Billie Eilish and brother Finneas, among others.
