Marshfield election results: Karen Hurd and John Spiros reelected to state Assembly

Marshfield-area residents on Tuesday elected two familiar faces to represent them in the state Assembly. Karen Hurd, who previously represented Wisconsin's 68th Assembly District, will now represent District 69 voters, and John Spiros was re-elected to a seventh term as representative for the 86th Assembly District.

Here's a closer look at those races.

Assembly District 69

Karen Hurd overcame Roger Halls and Joshua Kelley for the District 69 seat in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Republican Donna Rozar represented the district in two terms since 2021 but filed for noncandidacy as her residence is no longer in the district.

Hurd, 66, is a Withee resident who has been serving as representative to the District 68 seat in the Wisconsin State Assembly since 2022 and served as village of Fall Creek trustee from 2021 to 2024.

Here are the unofficial election night results as provided by the Associated Press. As of 10 a.m. Wednesday morning, 99% of estimated votes were counted:

• Karen Hurd: 19,534 (71.9%)

• Roger Halls: 6,565 (24.2%)

• Joshua Kelley: 1,056 (3.9%)

Assembly District 86

John Spiros defeated John Small for the District 86 seat in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Spiros has served six terms in the seat since 2013.

Spiros, 62, is a Marshfield resident who served six years in the U.S. Air Force before earning an associate degree in criminal justice and serving as a police officer. Spiros is currently the vice president of safety and claims at Roehl Transportation.

Here are the unofficial election night results as provided by the Associated Press. As of 10 a.m. Wednesday morning, 99% of estimated votes were counted:

• John Spiros (i): 23,329 (67%)

• John Small: 11,511 (33%)
