Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War Parts I And II Set For Name Change
As audiences around the world admire the Disney and Marvel’s ‘Captain America: Civil War’, its directors Joe and Anthony Russo have confirmed that the upcoming ‘Infinity War’ movies will get a name change.
After speaking to UPROXX about the current stand off between Captain America and Iron Man, talk soon turned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (or MCU for short) and its future.
When asked about how ‘Infinity War - Part I’ and ‘Infinity War - Part II’ will divide into two separate but ultimately connected films, their response was a shock.
“The movies are two very different movies,” said Joe. And while we already knew there were quite literally two actual films, when asked about whether that connection was misleading, Anthony cleared things up: “It is misleading,” he shared, followed by a little more clarity and expansion from Joe.
“The intention is we will change it, we just haven’t come up with the titles yet. But, yes, we will change it. And, yes, that is a scoop: we will retitle them.”
With the Russos having already graced us with ‘The Winter Solider’ and ‘Civil War’, it appears the directors don’t particularly want to male half a movie at a time or release something to fans that’s only half finished.
After that bombshell, the brothers offered no more information on what the possible titles could be or indeed what each film will entail. What it seems we will get is something entirely more than fans anticipated. Not only will it be two totally separate films, but with each having specific focus, story, and characters, it’ll essentially be like getting ‘The Avengers 3′ and ‘The Avengers 4′, rather than a two-part bumper film.
‘Captain America: Civil War’ is in UK cinemas now.
As it stands, the currently titled ‘Avengers: Infinity War - Part I’ hits UK cinemas on 27 April, 2018, with ‘Avengers: Infinity War - Part II’ out on 26 April, 2019.
