McDonald’s Is Cooking Up Another Big Change to Its Burgers

McDonald's burgers are headed for another revamp.
Though the company first announced it would be leveling up its portion sizes and offering bigger burgers just a few months ago, even bigger burgers are already on their way.
The news also comes at a time when customers are feeling like a burnt patty as "shrinkflation"–or the downsizing of goods as prices stay the same or, in some cases, increase–continues to wreak havoc on shopping experiences.
But before you go tagging the fast food chain in your complaints on social media, just know that the impending change is intended to be a positive one, at least according to statements made by its chief financial officer in a recent earnings call.

“As we look to further build on our leadership in beef, our team of chefs from around the world have created a larger, satiating burger," said Ian Borden, McDonald’s executive vice president and CFO. "We’ll be testing this burger in a few markets later this year, ensuring that it has universal appeal before scaling it across the globe."
It appears as though the Golden Arches is taking a similar approach with the soft launch of its new burgers as it did with the bigger version it began rolling out in December 2023 and its "Best Burger Ever," which the company market tested in April 2023 before it unwrapped them at locations across the nation.
The further improved menu item may not be addressing fans' criticism that the prices of its dollar menu have gone too far or that it shrunk the size of its Filet-O-Fish sandwiches–at least not right now–but surely it's a step in the right direction for those concerned about getting the most bang for their buck at the beloved burger joint.
