On Tuesday, MCSO conducted interstate patrols along I-10 Eastbound when they discovered a Toyota Corolla on the side of the road.
Deputies say they approached the vehicle and asked the occupants to step out. That’s when a Ring doorbell camera fell to the ground, revealing more in the back seat.
After backup arrived, the vehicle was taken to the south side substation for a search. That’s when deputies reportedly uncovered a large amount of merchandise.

Eduardo Basterrechea, Carlos Basterrechea, and Alain Gomez-Morales were arrested and charged with two counts of bringing stolen property into this state, a felony charge.
“Just because you steal from another state, if you enter the state of Alabama, and you enter Mobile County Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction, we’re going to find you, and we’re going to arrest you,” Sgt. Lonnie Parsons said.
Deputies say the three were traveling through Mobile County, from Texas to Florida, to resell the stolen goods.
After further investigation, detectives reportedly linked the suspects to a more extensive theft operation that spanned several states, including Illinois, California, Texas and Florida.
All three suspects have bonded out of jail.
Parsons says the Federal Bureau of Investigation has been notified and that the suspects could later receive federal charges.
