New medical marijuana dispensary opens in Baton Rouge: See where
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The state’s first licensed medical marijuana dispensary opened a satellite location in Baton Rouge on Friday, Sept. 20.
Cookies by Capitol Wellness, the new dispensary, will have a grand opening event at 1940 O’Neal Lane from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The event had a second line with Rockin’ Dopsie, a DJ, food trucks and specialty vendors. According to a news release, Berner, a rapper and the founder of the Cookies brand, will attend a meet-and-greet and sign merchandise.
Registered medical cannabis patients are invited to attend, with doctors on-site offering $25 consultations for new and renewing patients. Patients with anxiety, depression, insomnia and chronic pain are encouraged to come.
According to a news release, the first 300 patients will receive free food truck tickets.
