Metairie’s Wagner Library to close for 10 weeks to become ‘modernized’ space
METIAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — Metairie’s Charles A. Wagner Library will close for renovations later this month.

Jefferson Parish officials said the library, located at 6646 Riverside Drive, will close for 10 weeks starting on Aug. 12 while the library gets an update.
Parish officials said the work will include adding a new meeting room, updating the library’s interior, installing new flooring, adding new study rooms, upgrading lighting and doors, painting the space, adding energy-efficient windows and insulation, integrating new spaces into the current building, more parking and HVAC, sprinkler and plumbing updates.

Parish leaders said residents can visit the North Kenner Library at 630 West Esplanade Ave. or the East Bank Regional Library at 4747 W. Napolean Ave. while the Wagner Library is closed.
The library is set to reopen in November.
