Missing man sought in Monroe County

Aug. 5—UNION — The West Virginia State Police was continuing an investigation Monday into the whereabouts of a Virginia man who was reported missing after being seen in Monroe County.

On Friday, Aug. 2, Senior Trooper L. A. Evans received a missing person complaint from Alisa Wilson, who said that she dropped her son, 32-year-old Shayne Luke Wilson of Dinwiddie, Va. on June 11 in Union. Shayne Wilson planned to hike north along the Allegheny Trail, according to Capt. R.A. Maddy, deputy chief of staff for the state police.

Alisa Wilson said her son was seen three days later on Thursday, June 13 in Union, by her husband, Jonathan Wilson. She advised her son has not been seen or heard from since, Maddy said.

Senior Trooper Evans started an investigation and entered Shayne Lukes Wilson into NCIC as a missing person. This investigation remains active and ongoing, Maddy said.

A dog which has the name Zeke on his collar is believed to be with Wilson, Maddy said.
