Mobile man sentenced for 2021 capital murder, attempted murder
MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Mobile man was sentenced to life in prison without parole Wednesday, nearly two months after he was found guilty of capital murder and attempted murder.
40-year-old Murice Devell Sashington was found guilty on May 5 for the 2021 capital murder of Quincy Kemp and the attempted murder of Shanda Avery.

According to a Facebook post from Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood, Circuit Court Judge S. Wesley Pipes agreed with the DA’s sentencing recommendations.
Pipes sentenced Sashington to life without parole on the capital murder charge and a consecutive life sentence for the attempted murder charge.
“We believe this is the right outcome and that justice was served!” Blackwood’s Facebook post said.
