Moving to avoid a primary is exactly what's wrong with our current legislature | Letters

The response of incumbents to seek new residences due to the redistricting maps is a clear indication of what is wrong with our representative government (“Election maps force decisions,” March 3).

Being an elected representative was never meant to be a career, but instead was a way to give back to the community you were a part of. If redistricting means you would have to primary against a colleague, either primary or go back to your real career. How can you represent the population in a district you move to simply so you don’t have to participate in a primary?
