Des Moines and Iowa saw some scattered showers Sunday evening into Monday.
The majority of the state saw some rainfall, with the bulk of it pouring over the southwestern side of Iowa. More rain is expected throughout the rest of the week.

Des Moines saw just over half an inch of rain from overnight and a second wave Monday afternoon. In total, 0.52 inches of rain fell over the state capital by 2 p.m. Monday, according to Iowa State University Mesonet.

Is there more rain in Iowa's forecast?
Rain is never ideal during the Iowa State Fair, but the first full week could have some showers. Monday could see some rain between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. in Des Moines. Tuesday night has a 50% chance of thunderstorms before 1 a.m. with a 60% chance of rain on the way for Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
