Multicultural Festival, an MLK weekend tradition, is back at a new location in Palmetto

Palmetto’s annual Multicultural Festival will return this weekend to a new location.

The festival brings together Manatee County’s culturally diverse communities and will take place from 2-6 p.m. Saturday.

For its first time, the annual event will be held at Sutton Park, 1036 6 St W, Palmetto.

In past years, the festival would start directly after the city’s annual Martin Luther King Day parade, which has been canceled .

Attendees can enjoy a timeless celebration, including a free live performance from Grammy award-winning singer Freddie Jackson, local food and drink vendors.

Past performers include Ginuwine in 2020, Howard Hewett in 2019 and The Blue Notes in 2018.

This event is sponsored by the Palmetto Community Redevelopment Agency and has developed for 10-years. Last year’s gathering was canceled because of COVID-19.
