Davina McCall has teased that she may have set up a "potential marriage" after picking up some tips on playing Cupid on My Mum, Your Dad.

The TV star hosts the ITV dating series, in which older singles get a second shot at finding love in a stunning country retreat. And she has hinted that her newfound matchmaking skills have seen her introducing a couple who could be set to tie the knot.

McCall shared the story on The One Show, telling hosts Alex Jones and Roman Kemp: "I've got a potential marriage going!"

McCall was on the programme on Thursday, 5 September promoting the upcoming second series of the show when she let her secret slip. She was chatting to fellow guests Will Mellor and Kara Tointon and asked if they would be any good at making romantic matches.

Mellor quipped that he would be "useless" and McCall announced: "I think I have got a potential marriage going." Everyone looked excited but the conversation moved on so McCall didn't say more.

But Jones exclaimed: "We can't leave it there!" McCall then seemed to suggest it was something she had orchestrated outside of the series. "I'll tell you about it after," she told the presenters. "It's not on the show."

Tointon asked whether McCall had been able to pick such a good match because of her experience on the series. But the former Big Brother host confessed: "No, I have got no idea. But I am excited!"

McCall also shared details of a big change in My Mum, Your Dad this year.

The hopefuls featured in the series have been nominated to go on the show by their adult children, who tune in to see what happens as they get to know potential matches. However, McCall explained that in series two, couples do have a way to hide from the watchful eyes of their children if they want to.

"There is a room called The Snug, which was there before, it is a room that parents can go to if they want a little bit of privacy," she said. "There is a switch, which the kids didn't know about, where you can switch the feed off to the bunker... Everything disappears."

My Mum, Your Dad will return this September to ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.
