It's National Voter Registration Day: Here's how and where to register to vote in Michigan

Are you registered to vote?

Today is National Voter Registration Day, a non-partisan civic holiday aimed at boosting voter turnout.

“We’re glad to have every major election official association backing the holiday to instill confidence in the voting process and help more Americans get registered for this record-breaking year,” said Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon, co-chair of the holiday’s steering committee.

Since it was launched in 2012, organizers say it has helped register more than 5 million American voters.

Polling in Michigan shows the presidential race to be especially close and other races, including local ones, are on the ballot as well.
