NCIS: Origins shares first look at young Gibbs and main cast
NCIS: Origins has shared a first look at a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs and its main cast, with Austin Stowell and co being pictured in character.
The upcoming show, a prequel to the main show of the franchise, follows the beginnings of Gibbs’ (Stowell) career as he learns the ropes during training camp.
Though the show is yet to have a release date, production has been firmly underway for the past few months, and we now have our first photos of the various characters (via TVLine).

In addition to Stowell as the central character, other stars who were pictured included Caleb Foote, Diany Rodriguez, Tyla Abercrumbie, Mariel Molino and Kyle Schmid with the group playing Bernard Randolf, Vera Strickland, Mary Jo Hayes, Cecilia Dominguez and Mike Franks respectively.
The series is being produced by Mark Harmon and his son Sean, with Gina Lucita Monreal and David J. North serving as co-showrunners. They also shared a statement upon the show’s announcement, expressing their excitement at the project.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing this new chapter to life along with Mark and Sean Harmon,” they said. “This really is the making of Leroy Jethro Gibbs. And even the most dedicated NCIS fans will discover that they don’t know the whole story.”

Mark, who played Gibbs in the main NCIS series, is also set to be involved from a more creative standpoint, with the star primed to narrate the series. His role was teased by president of CBS Entertainment Amy Reisenbach, who added that viewers would be excited.
“Viewers can look forward to Mark Harmon returning to CBS to narrate the complex and mysterious backstory of Leroy Jethro Gibbs' early years in NCIS: Origins, which will build on the rich legacy of this character while reintroducing fan-favourite characters and meeting new ones,” she said in a statement.
NCIS: Origins currently has no release date. NCIS airs on CBS in the US. Seasons 1-20 are streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
