U.S. Sen. Deb Fischer won the Republican nomination for her seat in Nebraska's primary election on Tuesday night, beating challenger Arron Kowalski, according to the Associated Press.
Fischer is running for her third term in Congress after being elected in 2012. She was expected to win the primary, even though she did not receive an endorsement from the state's Republican party. Now, she will face independent candidate and former union leader Dan Osborn this November.
