Netflix angers fans as it removes show with 100% Rotten Tomatoes score
Netflix viewers woke up to a sour surprise when they learned beloved show Jane the Virgin would be leaving the platform soon.
The streaming giant upset fans of the show, which has a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, by announcing the Gina Rodriguez's critically acclaimed telenovela-inspired saga will no longer be part of its catalogue worldwide from September 5.
Jane the Virgin lovers took to Twitter/X to call out Netflix for the decision, with one person defining the streamer's move as "outrageous".

"Cannot believe Netflix is taking off Jane the Virgin this is outrageous," one fan wrote, while another commented: "my heart is hurting because they’re taking jane the virgin off netflix like no omgg."
The TV rom-com starring Rodriguez as a virgin who's artificially inseminated by accident when her gynaecologist mixes up appointments has become a comfort show for many since it premiered in 2014.
"Forever gonna hate netflix for removing jane the virgin my f**king comfort show," another fan tweeted.

Those in the UK can indulge in all 100 episodes for free via another top streaming service, as ITVX is currently streaming the series in its entirety.
A loose adaptation of Venezuelan telenovela Juana la virgen, the series originally aired in the US on The CW between 2014 and 2019.
Alongside Rodriguez in the role of protagonist Jane Villanueva, the show also starred Justin Baldoni as Jane's baby daddy and love interest Rafael Solano and Brett Dier as her boyfriend Michael Cordero Jr.
