The mobile workshop uses hands-on simulators and virtual reality experiences to imitate on-the-job experiences. Inmates have the opportunity to explore a variety of trade industries including welding, carpentry, robotics, and transportation.
The initiative is led by the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions and the state’s Center for Economic Opportunity. The state prison facility tour is scheduled for the end of the month.
