Multiple calls were made to the police department about a man who was shot near a gray work van around 9:45 a.m. Witnesses reported that a white minivan left the scene, but was soon located in Brooklyn Heights, the release said.
The man, later identified by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner as 41-year-old Christopher Andexler, was taken to Metro Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to the release, the minivan caught fire due to a “mechanical issue.” It then rolled down a steep driveway into a wooded area.
Brooklyn Heights Police responded to the scene and took a man and woman, both 28, into custody. Police also found the gun that was used in the shooting.
