Northeast Ohio restaurant, pizza shop closes after more than 50 years in business

BROOK PARK, Ohio (WJW) – A beloved pizza restaurant is closing its doors for good after serving customers for more than 50 years.
Donte’s Restaurant and Pizza Shop in Brook Park made the announcement Monday on the shop’s Facebook page saying, “To our beloved customers/family/friends, we wanted to be the first to share the official news with you. After 52 years in business, we have made the bittersweet decision to close our doors.”

According to the post from Beth Angeloff and Mark Casedonte, the restaurant’s last day of normal business will be on Wednesday, July 17.
“It has been a pleasure serving this community for 50+ years and we were honored to continue our parent’s legacy,” the Facebook post said. “We have felt the love from everyone regarding this next chapter and hope to see all of you in the coming weeks as we say farewell to Donte’s.”
UH announces hundreds of layoffs
According to the post on Facebook, a ticketed “Last Call” celebration weekend will be held on July 19 and 20
“Formal details on the final weekend will be announced soon,” the Facebook post said.
Fox 8 News did reach out to Donte’s for a statement but has not yet heard back.
