Noticed the construction on West Nine Mile Road? A popular restaurant is coming soon.
If you’ve driven past Surrey Drive using West Nine Mile Road in recent weeks, you likely noticed a building is under construction and almost finished.
That building will be a new Panera Bread restaurant with 3,500 square feet of space inside, according to the project’s approved site plans filed with Escambia County. The same plans show that its address will be 2405 W. Nine Mile Road once it’s done with construction.
This store will be Panera Bread’s first location in northwest Pensacola, as well as its fourth store in Escambia County.
`The project for the northwest Pensacola location was issued a development order from Escambia County’s Development Review Committee (DRC) in January.
It was previously approved by the DRC last August before developers resubmitted their adjusted plans, which included widening the entrance to the drive-thru lane.

Where is Panera Bread around Escambia County?
Panera Bread is a national restaurant chain that started in 1987 and has expanded its footprint to 48 different states within the U.S. The franchise is known for its sandwiches, soups and variety of baked goods.
The chain currently has 188 locations open across Florida, with three of them operating in Escambia County. They can be found at:
University Parkway Café located at 9239 University Parkway
Bear Family Foundation Health Center Café located at 125 Baptist Way
Bayou Boulevard at North Ninth Ave Café located at 5091 Bayou Blvd.
The incoming restaurant’s address will be 2405 W. Nine Mile Road upon completion.
