Victim identified after deadly dump truck wreck in Morgan County
MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — The Morgan County Coroner has identified the victim in a deadly wreck on Ruth Mountain Road.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said the wreck happened around 4:15 p.m. on August 18.

The Morgan County Coroner Jeff Chunn identified the victim as 70-year-old Ronald Lee Knott from Hanceville.
ALEA said the truck Knott was driving left the roadway, overturned, and hit several trees and a utility pole. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Around 5 p.m. on August 18, the MCSO posted on Facebook about a deadly wreck where Valley Cruise Lane and Ruth Mountain Road meet.
The sheriff’s office said the wreck involved a dump truck.

MCSO asked the public to avoid the area and use caution while deputies investigated the scene.
At this time, the sheriff’s office has not given details as to how many people were involved or if there were any additional injuries.
