Oh no! YaYa's Flame Broiled Chicken in Lansing closes

LANSING — YaYa's Flame Broiled Chicken, 3011 E. Saginaw St., has permanently closed, according to a sign on the door.

Representatives of the Flint-based company, which has seven other locations in Michigan and Florida, have not responded to phone or online messages.

The sign hanging on the Lansing door is undated, it was posted by Saturday: "Closed. It has been my honor to serve the people of Lansing and all my loyal customers. I will always be thankful, sincerely Ken & YaYa's crew!"

On the Lansing Foodies Facebook group, dozens of people posted about the restaurant's chicken Caesar salad, a jalapeno ranch salad and the restaurant's signature grilled chicken. Several asked where they could find something similar.

Employees at two other YaYa's locations in Michigan said they were open Monday.

YaYa's once had two locations in the area. A store near the Lansing Mall closed previously.

At one time there were two YaYa's locations in the Lansing area, the second was near the Lansing Mall, but it closed years ago.
