How old are the Democratic VP contenders?

Vice President and presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris has yet to announce a running mate for the 2024 election, although she's expected to do so in early August.

Based on previous reporting by USA TODAY, Harris is likely considering a handful of Democratic vice presidential candidates, including Andy BeshearPete Buttigieg, Roy Cooper, Mark Kelly, J.B. Pritzker, Cedric Richmond, Josh Shapiro, Tim Walz and Gretchen Whitmer.

The issue of age has been at the forefront of the 2024 election cycle as former President Donald Trump, 78, relentlessly taunted President Joe Biden, 81, on age although they're only three years apart. But with Biden's decision to bow out of the race, the Republican nominee is now the oldest presidential nominee in history.
