18-year-old woman dead in northwest Columbus shooting

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — One woman is dead after a shooting early Saturday morning in northwest Columbus.
Columbus police said officers were alerted to a reported domestic violence incident at the 6100 block of O’Sweeney Lane near Tuttle just before 12:30 a.m. 18-year-old Kiara Nelson was found with a gunshot wound and taken to a hospital. Nelson was pronounced dead at 1:51 a.m., per police.

Police said a dispute between two other people took place inside the apartment when Nelson attempted to intervene and was then shot. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 614-645-4221.
