One man dead, another injured after wrong-way driver causes head-on crash in Outagamie County
BUCHANAN, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Outagamie County say one man is dead and another is in the hospital after a wrong-way driver crashed head-on into another vehicle Tuesday night.
According to a release from the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were alerted at 7:26 p.m. of someone driving east in the westbound lanes of County CE at County Road N.
Before police could contact and stop the wrong-way vehicle, they say the SUV continued heading east until it crashed head-on into a pickup truck.

The driver of the SUV, a 70-year-old man from Buchanan, was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the pickup truck, a 51-year-old man from Appleton, was taken by ambulance to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials say the westbound lanes of County Road CE between County Road N and Buchanan Road were closed for about three hours.
No other details are available at this time and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
