One person dead, 5 hurt after overnight shooting in Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City police are investigating after at least one man died in a shooting early Monday morning.
The shooting happened just before 2 a.m. Monday morning — near Gregory and Prospect.
One person found dead after homicide in Kansas City
When paramedics arrived, they found two men who had been shot. Both were taken to the hospital — one of them died, while the other is in critical condition.
Police have said that five other people were hurt– It is unclear if they all suffered gunshot wounds. The victim who was killed has been identified as Dyamund Shields, a 31-year-old black man.

Investigators believe a fight broke out between several people — that escalated into a shooting.
At this time no arrests have been made.
