Oregon man arrested in Buffalo airport, allegedly urinated in aisle during flight

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — An Oregon man was arrested and charged with indecent exposure Wednesday after he allegedly urinated in the aisle during an American Airlines flight, the U.S. District Attorney’s Office announced.

On July 3, a flight from Oregon to New Hampshire was diverted to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport following a call to the NFTA Police. 25-year-old Neil McCarthy had allegedly exposed himself and urinated in the aisle while the plane was in flight.

When the flight landed at Gate 2, an officer boarded the airplane and spoke to a flight attendant who confirmed the incident. McCarthy was taken into custody and escorted off the plane.

He faces a maximum of six months in prison and a $5,000 fine, if convicted.

McCarthy made an initial appearance in court Wednesday afternoon and was released on his own recognizance.
