Oregon State Police seek crash witnesses after driver, 3-year-old seriously injured

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Oregon State Police are seeking witnesses related to a crash that happened in Yamhill County in late July in which a driver and a young child were seriously injured.

The crash happened on July 25 at 6:55 a.m. near the intersection of Lafayette Highway (Highway 154) and Amity Road (Highway 153) and involved three vehicles in total.

“The collision involved a white Pontiac G6 traveling northbound on Highway 153 at Highway 154 that struck a southbound green Peterbilt commercial motor vehicle [semi-truck],” OSP said in a release. “The Pontiac’s driver and a three-year-old passenger sustained serious injuries.”

Authorities said they are seeking witnesses to the crash, including the driver of a white pickup truck who was traveling in front of the semi-truck.

“The Pontiac left its lane and made contact with the pickup,” the release said.

State police said they would also like to speak with someone who reportedly pulled the child from the Pontiac following the crash.

An OSP spokesperson told KOIN 6 News all three involved vehicles had some damage but the pickup truck was only minorly damaged.
