New Orleans firefighters fight flames at multiple 7th Ward homes
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Fire Department is on the scene of multiple housefires in the 7th Ward on Tuesday, July 9.
A report of the fires came in around 10:43 a.m. from the 2600 block of Allen Street.

WGNO crews arrived at the location to find NOFD officials working to extinguish flames at two homes and surrounding homes possibly charred by the flames.
NOFD firefighters reported that as the first truck arrived, they called for a second alarm after seeing one duplex engulfed in flames and extending to the neighboring properties.
It was also reported that the flames were so intense that a home across the street suffered heat damage to an exterior wall.
A third alarm was later called at 11:04 a.m. to relieve firefighters as temperatures reached 90 degrees with a heat index of 110 degrees.
A total of 22 NOFD units carrying 67 firefighters were able to bring the flames under control by 11:35 a.m.
The cause of the fire has not been released and injuries have not been reported at this time.
