New Orleans police investigate 7th Ward, Bywater shootings
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating two separate shootings that left two people wounded in the 7th Ward and the Bywater areas.
According to the NOPD, at 2:35 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, officers responded to a shooting on the corner of Poland Avenue and Chartres Street. The victim told officers that he was standing in the area when he “felt a pain and realized he was shot.”

He was later taken to a hospital by NOEMS.
The second shooting happened at 1:19 a.m. on Monday, July 15 in the 1700 block of Henriette Delille Street. According to NOPD officers, a woman reported seeing a Dodge vehicle approaching and an occupant “opened fire.”

She reportedly suffered gunshot wounds to her feet and was taken to a hospital by private vehicle. Updates on either victim’s condition were not released.
