Man surrenders to NOPD in Central City SWAT Roll

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A SWAT roll was called Tuesday morning, July 16 after a man barricaded himself inside a Central City home.
Man found dead in St. Roch neighborhood overnight
According to the New Orleans Police Department, officers responded to the 2800 block of S. Johnson Street to serve a warrant to a man wanted for an attempted murder and various crimes.
The cause of the SWAT roll is unknown. Following negotiations from the NOPD, the man surrendered to police and has been taken into custody.
The NOPD later identified the man as 40-year-old Philip Jenkins.
