Overnight closures planned on 15 Freeway in Hesperia for bridge work
A series of overnight closures of the 15 Freeway in Hesperia will begin next week as Caltrans carries out maintenance work on the Joshua Street Bridge.
Crews will shut down the bridge on Oct. 18 as they make preparations to demolish the deck of the bridge, which will remain closed through late-November as it's replaced, Caltrans officials said in a written statement.

The entire freeway will be shut down between 11 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 19, Oct. 26, Nov. 2 and Nov. 16 to accommodate the project, authorities said.
The schedule depends on the weather and is subject to change, the Caltrans statement added.
"Please plan accordingly and remember to reduce your speed in the work zone. Detours will be available."
Traffic will be redirected from the 15 Freeway to Highway 395 and Highway 18 during the closures.
The bridge work is part of a larger $6.6 million bridge maintenance project funded by California's Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017. Refurbishment and repair work is scheduled for three bridges across the 15 and 40 freeways, to be completed in the spring of 2025.
Such projects are "critical for maintaining our roadways," Caltrans District 8 Director Catalino Pining said. "These upgrades keep our infrastructure safe and supports long-term usability for all drivers."
