Overnight homicide in Oshkosh, police say a person of interest apprehended

OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – Police in Oshkosh are investigating a homicide and say that a person of interest is already apprehended.

According to the Oshkosh Police Department, on July 2 around 11:30 p.m., officers responded to the 1000 block of Wisconsin Street for a report of a body lying outside. When authorities got to the scene, a man who was shot was found.

The victim was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene. Police say that with the help of the Fond du Lac Police Department, a person of interest was taken into custody.

The Oshkosh Police Department says it is continuing the investigation but is not looking for other suspects at this time. There is no reported ongoing threat to the public.
