PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Pacific Power says an outage in the Portland area has left thousands of customers without power on Sunday.
Pacific Power initially said on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday morning that more than 35,000 customers were without power; however, as of 12:30 p.m., just over 3,500 customers remained without power, according to the Pacific Power outage map.

This is the second time in two months Pacific Power customers have been affected by a major outage. Back in May, a beaver chewing through a tree that made contact with a transmission line left more than 33,000 people without power.
Pacific Power said the cause of the current outage is under investigation and the estimated time of restoration is 4:30 p.m.
