Palm Bay mayor wins another term; two city council races go to November runoff elections
Palm Bay Mayor Rob Medina handily won a second straight term in office on Election Day, defeating a trio of challengers by claiming more than 50% of the votes at the primary ballot box.
However, the Palm Bay City Council Seat 2 and 3 races are bound for head-to-head runoffs during the Nov. 5 general election.
In the Seat 2 race, Palm Bay Deputy Mayor Donny Felix will face Richard Mike Hammer on the November ballot. And the Seat 3 race will pit Chandler Langevin against Alfy Ramsay Agarie.

Medina was reelected to another four-year term by winning 54.9% of the vote in the mayoral race (9,890 votes), according to unofficial results from the Brevard County Supervisor of Elections.
Tatiana Rosado took 23.7% of the mayoral vote (4,268 votes), while Edith Rivera won 11.7% (2,106 votes) and Santa Isabel Wright won 9.8% (1,765 votes).
Felix finished with 40.2% of the Seat 2 vote (7,018 votes), while Hammer secured 38.4% (6,703 votes) and Patric McNally got 21.5% (3,751 votes).
Because none of the candidates garnered more than 50% of the primary vote in this nonpartisan race, the top two vote-getters advanced to a November runoff and McNally was eliminated.
Similarly, in the six-way Seat 3 race, Langevin took 26.8% of the vote (4,727 votes) and Agarie took 21.3% (3,762 votes). They advanced to the November election, while their four opponents were eliminated: Eileen Sepp, who took 18.2% of the vote (3,209 votes); David Kearns (15.7%, 2,775 votes); Peter Filiberto (13.1%, 2,315 votes); and Michael Bruyette (4.9%, 856 votes).
Last week, council members appointed Philip Weinberg to temporarily fill the Seat 3 vacancy until either Langevin or Agarie takes the oath of office in November. He replaced Randy Foster, who resigned in June for health reasons.
