The Panhandle Boys to host Texas wildfire relief concert March 24
The Panhandle Boys will host a West Texas Wildfire Relief Concert benefitting the Panhandle Disaster Relief Fund on March 24 at the Starlight Ranch, located at 1415 Sunrise Dr. in Amarillo.
The concert will feature three Texas Panhandle natives, including Randall King, Kevin Fowler and Aaron Watson. The event will feature live music, food trucks, beverage specials and more.
“As the news broke about the wildfires raging across the panhandle, the place I was born and raised, I knew we had to do something to help. Amarillo is my hometown,” Fowler shared in a news release. “These are my people. I'm so excited to join forces with my fellow panhandle boys, Aaron Watson and Randall King to do what we can to help support all the families affected by these fires and the heroes out there on the front lines.”
According to Starlight Ranch co-owner Bobby Lee, after hearing about the devastation the wildfires left behind across the panhandle, Fowler called Lee no more than a week ago and said he wanted to host a benefit concert to help the community and planned on roping in his fellow native artists. From the phone call, Lee said they began preparing for the benefit concert.
“My heart goes out to my homeland. So many families, lives, and ways of living have been affected by these fires, and I want to do my part to help in the best way I know how. When Kevin reached out for this opportunity, I absolutely had to jump on the chance to help heal the panhandle through the power of music," Kingsaid in the release announcing the concert fundraiser.
In addition to the concert, the artists are slated to bring some autographed merchandise as well as fellow artists' signed material for a live auction benefitting the fund. All proceeds from the concert will benefit the Panhandle Disaster Relief Fund, an initiative created by the Amarillo Area Foundation providing assistance to those affected by disasters in the Texas Panhandle region, offering immediate relief and long-term recovery efforts to individuals and families impacted by natural disasters, such as wildfires, floods, and severe storms.
“As devastating as all of this has been, it's hard to not feel hopeless but for one night, we're going to do our part to try and bring a smile to people's faces,” Watson said in the release. “I'm honored to be joining the boys for this incredible benefit and to raise money to try and help these families get back on their feet."
Guests 18 years or younger must be accompanied by an adult. Doors are slated to open at 4 p.m. but may be announced to open sooner. The concert is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased and donations can be made directly to the Panhandle Disaster Relief Fund online at PanHandleBoys.com .
