Paranormal Cirque shows at West Ridge Mall called off
TOPEKA (KSNT) – An out-of-the-ordinary circus due to visit the capital city later this fall for a series of shows at West Ridge Mall won’t be coming after all.
Casey Richardson, West Ridge Mall’s manager, told 27 News, following a written information request, the Paranormal Cirque II show will not be coming to the mall. She did not provide an answer as to why the circus was being canceled.
Richardson announced the performances on Aug. 13, stating in a press release that Paranormal Cirque II would be setting up in the mall’s parking lot Sept. 19-Sept. 23. A separate circus, Do Portugal, was also announced at the same time.
27 News reached out to the Paranormal Cirque II team to learn more about the cancellation and were told by Steve Copeland, a spokesman for the circus, that Topeka was never on the schedule.

Paranormal Cirque has visited Topeka twice in recent years, in 2021 and in 2023, providing rated-R entertainment to local adults and older teens at Heartland Motorsports Park which recently sold at auction. People who are 13-17 are allowed to enter the circus with adult supervision while those 12 and under are banned.
“We hope we can come to Topeka in the future, but that was not on our schedule,” Copeland said.
A stop in Wichita is still on schedule for Sept. 13-16. You can see the full tour online by clicking here.
“There’s absolutely a chance we’ll come back,” Copeland said. “Our parent company Cirque Italia has five touring shows. If we don’t play a city one year, it’s very likely we’ll play it the next or one of our other shows will.”
