‘Party promoter’ arrested in connection with shooting on Clinton Street
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A party promoter was arrested Friday in connection with an October shooting on the 600 block of Clinton Street, near Jefferson Avenue, Buffalo police announced.
Chuka Ibezim, 23, of Buffalo was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal nuisance.
At 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 26, police responded to a shooting call at a party. Officials said police learned upon arrival that a 15-year-old female victim was brought to a hospital in a civilian vehicle. A 26-year-old male victim was also brought by civilian vehicle to ECMC at the same time.
An investigation found that Ibezim allegedly hosted the event where the shooting occurred without a permit, police said. The city posted a cease and desist order at the location of the shooting the next day to prevent more unpermitted events.
Further investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.
