Pedestrian killed in Jefferson hit-and-run
JEFFERSON, La. (WGNO) — A person is dead following a hit-and-run crash that occurred on Thursday evening.
According to the Louisiana State Police, troopers with LSP Troop B began investigating the crash around 11:45 p.m. on Aug. 15. The initial investigation showed that 37-year-old Sue Ella Cechman, of Metairie, was trying to cross Jefferson Highway at Claiborne Court when an unknown vehicle, which was traveling west on Jefferson highway, hit her and drove away.
‘Armed, dangerous’ suspect in St. Roch area homicide arrested
Cechman sustained serious injuries from the crash and was transported to a local hospital where she was later declared dead.
The crash remains under investigation.
Details about the vehicle remain unknown, however, through investigative resources, troopers believe the suspect vehicle to be a dark sedan, possibly colored blue, which would probably have damage to the front.
