Who is on the Peoria City Council? What to know
The Peoria City Council has six members and a mayor. Councilmembers serve geographic districts and serve four-year, staggered terms and the mayor serves the city at-large. Councilmembers can serve three consecutive terms, a policy that began in 2014.
Acacia District: Jennifer Crawford
Crawford was elected in 2022. She has lived in Peoria since 2004. She is a licensed realtor and office manager for a Peoria-based residential real estate team.
Ironwood District: Bill Patena
Patena was first elected in 2012, then reelected in 2016 and 2020. Prior to his election, he worked for the city of Peoria as neighborhood services manager. Before working for the city, he was the executive director of Garden Park Enterprises, a school and workshop for mentally and physically challenged children and adults. He was also the program director for United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona.

Mesquite District: Brad Shafer
Shafer was appointed to the council in 2022 to fill a vacancy and then was elected to a term in 2022. Shafer is an Air Force veteran and previously served on the Peoria Planning and Zoning Commission and the city’s bond advisory and charter review committees.
Palo Verde District: Michael Finn
Finn was first elected in 2014 and reelected in 2018 and 2022. Prior to serving on the council, Finn was chief financial officer for the Peoria Unified School District. He also held leadership roles at UPS and US Airways.
Pine District: Denette Dunn
Dunn was appointed to the council in 2019 and then elected in a special election that year and reelected in 2022. Prior to serving on the council, she worked in marketing and government relations for Dickson Sweeping. She is the current vice mayor of the city.
Willow District: Jon Edwards
Edwards was elected in 2012 and re-elected in 2016 and 2020. He serves as mayor pro tempore for the city. He has served on the Valley Metro board of directors, the Westmarc executive committee, the executive board of directors for the Homeless Youth Connection and the National League of Cities community and economic development committee. He works as a program manager for a computer services company.
