PHOTOS: Storm causes roof to fly in downtown Jefferson

MARION COUNTY, Texas (KETK) – The Jefferson Police Department said a passing storm did damage in the downtown area on Wednesday after a metal roof flew off a building.

The police department said multiple groups are working to restore power and open roads that are currently closed. While the storm pickup continues, Austin and Walnut roads will remain closed, a release said.

“We’re happy to report no injuries reported during this storm,” Jefferson PD said.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office said residents should avoid the downtown Jefferson area while crews work to pickup the damage.
