Police in Orange County execute high-risk PIT maneuver on pursuit suspect
A stolen-vehicle pursuit suspect out of Orange County is in custody after a dangerous high-speed pursuit that when police executed a risky PIT maneuver in Garden Grove Tuesday evening.
The chase was initiated at around 6:40 p.m. when officers from the Costa Mesa Police Department spotted the stolen white Toyota Tundra in the 3000 block of Harbor Boulevard.
Costa Mesa PD suspended the chase once the suspect left the area, but the pursuit was then picked up by officers with the California Highway Patrol when the suspect was on the 91 Freeway.
The driver exited the 91 on southbound Knott Avenue and continued the chase on surface streets.
Aerial footage from Sky5 captured the man hitting high speeds, driving on the wrong side of the road and splitting car lanes in heavy traffic as authorities trailed.

Officers with the Anaheim Police Department picked up the chase in the area of Garden Grove and executed a high-risk PIT maneuver, causing the truck to swerve out of control in front of another motorist before coming to a stop on Magnolia Street.
The suspect, who was quickly surrounded by officers with guns drawn, exited the vehicle and surrendered.
