Man accused of groping 10-year-old girl at SE Portland grocery store arrested

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A man who is accused of groping a child in a Southeast Portland grocery store was arrested Tuesday night.

Portland resident Adam M. Caldwell, 42, has been lodged in the Multnomah County Detention Center and charged with third-degree sex abuse.

The Portland Police Bureau said the arrest comes after “an alert community member called 911” to report Caldwell’s location at about 7:25 p.m. Officers responded to the area of Southeast 52nd Avenue and Southeast Duke Street and arrested him.

Earlier Tuesday, authorities announced they were searching for the suspect and trying to identify him after he allegedly “inappropriately touched” a 10-year-old girl and then fled from a grocery store at 3800 SE Hawthorne Boulevard in June.
